TracBack routing navigates you back to your starting point the same way you came – right on your device. You can also share your location with loved ones back home by using your MapShare™ page or with your coordinates embedded in your messages. The digital compass delivers accurate heading information, even when you’re not moving. Use the Garmin Explore™ app on a compatible smartphone to plan trips, access topographical maps, create way points and courses you can sync to your device, and more. Stay on adventures longer with up to 14 days of battery life in 10-minute tracking mode.

Satellite Subscription

You’ll need an active satellite subscription to access the Iridium satellite network for tracking, messaging and interactive SOS. Check out our subscription options below:

Important Subscription Details

InReach devices require satellite subscription activation to access the Iridium® satellite network for live tracking and messaging functions, including SOS.

All plans are billed monthly. Subscription plans listed above are for individual consumers only. Plans include applicable VAT. Additional charges apply to text messages, tracking points and location pings exceeding selected plan limits. For Service Plans that include unlimited texting or tracking, message transmission speeds may be reduced following a period of heavy use. SOS message transmission speed will not be impacted. All annual plans are subject to R494.99 activation fee. No charge applies to changing an annual plan.

Enrolment in Freedom plans is subject to an R574.99 annual fee. Freedom plans’ minimum term is 30 days. New 30-day minimum applies to change Freedom plans. No charge applies to changing a Freedom plan. Service can be suspended a month at a time at no charge. User retains access to inReach data stored on the Garmin Explore™ website while account is suspended. Selected plan auto-renews monthly unless user changes account selections in Garmin Explore™ website.

Remotely control inReach Mini 2 to send and receive messages, start and stop tracking, and trigger an interactive SOS using compatible Garmin handhelds, wearables or other mobile devices.

  • Garmin Pilot™ App

Pair with the Garmin Pilot app to easily send and receive text messages from the cockpit – even without mobile reception. The app can use the inReach Mini 2 device’s GPS position and location sharing abilities for your flight.
